Magic Bullet Suite 1.5 Optimized for Intel Pentium 4 Systems

San Francisco, CA, August 5, 2003 – The Orphanage today announced the next edition of its award-winning software, Magic Bullet Suite version 1.5, optimized for Intel Pentium 4 systems. The new release, a free upgrade from version 1.1, delivers up to 3.8x times improvement over previous versions of the software, addressing the number one concern of Magic Bullet Suite users: speed.

Comprised of a set of five Adobe After Effects plug-ins, Magic Bullet Suite v1.5 takes original, high-quality digital video and converts it to a 24 frames per second master (film speed). The software is available on both Macintosh and Windows.

The new version dramatically decreases render time from 5 sec/frame to just more than 1 sec/frame on a dual processor Pentium 4 Xeon system. “Intel has been instrumental in helping our engineers create an optimized version for the Pentium 4. With Intel’s assistance we have been able to achieve a performance breakthrough for this version,” said Stu Maschwitz, CTO at The Orphanage.

In addition to speed improvements, both the PC and Mac versions of Magic Bullet Suite now support floating-point based processing for 8-bit and 16-bit/channel source material for better preservation of dynamic range. Look Suite has also been updated with full floating-point based image processing and an improved contrast function that retains the extended shadows of earlier versions while eliminating mid-tone contrast artifacts.

Pricing and Availability

Magic Bullet Suite v1.5 supports After Effects 5.5 and later on Mac OS 9, Mac OS X, and Windows 2000/XP operating systems and will be shipping in late August. A competitive upgrade is available now for DigiEffects Cinelook customers. Cinelook customers must provide proof of ownership.
