San Francisco, CA, November 20, 2003 – Red Giant Software today announced that the Los Angeles-based post production house, Steam, has joined a growing list of leading industry firms that chose Primatte Keyer 1.5 for After Effects for its bluescreen and greenscreen work.
With 60% of Steam’s client work dedicated to visual effects, the firm has completed over 30 projects over the last two yeas that involved keying or color correction with Primatte Keyer. The firm’s $495 investment in Primatte Keyer has saved at least a day of production time on every project and nearly $150,000 in production costs to date.
Working on a wide variety of subjects—from music videos for the Foo Fighters and Tenacious D to corporate videos for Intel and Washington Mutual—Steam was looking for an easy way to extract keys with imprecise edges, uneven lighting, and hair from any color background. The post house wanted an efficient solution for keying all projects from the perfectly shot scenes to the most complicated ones that did not involve complicated sliders.
“Primatte Keyer delivers the most consistent, high-quality results for the widest variety of shots. If you need to key hair, or an actor wearing the same color as the background, Primatte Keyer is the solution. It is just so easy to use, with no sliders involved. We are now able to complete jobs two to three times faster, saving us at least a day of production time on every project,” Scott Bryant, Owner and Senior Creative Director of Steam.
