San Francisco, CA, December 12, 2005 – Red Giant Software today announced that Solventdreams used Magic Bullet™ Editors on the National Geographic mini series called the Microkillers, which explores the deadly strains of microorganisms such as Ebola, HIV, malaria, plague, and the flu. Magic Bullet Editors, a software plug-in, based on The Orphanage’s award-winning Magic Bullet technology, enabled Solventdeams to add film treatments right on the Final Cut Pro timeline.
Solventdreams set recurrent looks for archival material, re-enactments, and some interviews. Certain Magic Bullet Editors presets like the film looks emulation Mexicali were used for archival shots of India, sepia tone presets like Pale Olive for old hospital scenes, and a Bleach Bypass for re-enactments of a soldier on patrol in Africa in the Ebola episode.
“Magic Bullet Editors was indispensable in expediting a high quality, distinctive look to particular re-enactment sequences and lower quality archival footage—some of which was from the 1950’s and 1960’s,” said David Davidson, owner of Solventdreams.
