Video Cards

PhotoLooks recommends specific graphics card capabilities to provide acceleration of the PhotoLooks preview in LooksBuilder. Without the correct card, the software will run, but the speed will be much slower.

Magic Bullet PhotoLooks supports a wide range of cards from both ATI or NVIDIA. For ATI cards, we require a 9600 XT or greater, or an X series card starting with the X700 series. Cards with greater model numbers and at least 128 MB of RAM can run the Looks engine.

For NVIDIA cards, we support the 7300 model and higher or QuadroFX 1300 and up. Cards with higher model numbers and a minimum of 128 MB of RAM can run PhotoLooks. For users working with larger images, we require that the video card have at least 256 MB of RAM. In all cases, we suggest using the latest video drivers for your graphics card.

Rendering

With LooksBuilder, you can try Looks as a real-time color correction adding and removing tools without the need to worry about slowing down your workflow. LooksBuilder creates a proxy version of your image to make it quicker to work. When you click Ok, the app returns control to Photoshop and Photoshop uses the CPU exclusively to render the final image. This method allows for fast interaction for trying out presets while giving you the ability to render images of virtually unlimited size in Photoshop.
