Ok, I understand how to create it with a null object and have it go in 2D or 3D in live action, however, how do you have particles wrap around a person. Do I need to do some roto work or motion track?

Hey man! I saw you tutorials "Video Killed internet stars" ! Funny jokes)))
But this tutorial you so... madness or i dont know... I DONT SAY YOU... etc i hope you understand me! ))

    Thanks, Aharon!
I forgot how good Form is!

  4. Aharon Rabinowitz Says:

For the dust you;re talking about, Form might be better to this task. It creates particles on a 3D grid - you can set the amount of levels of particles, and then add in some displacement to place them randomly. Watch the first tutorial I did here (Binary Transition) which covers some of this.

Aharon R is the ideal guy to do these tutorials, he always makes his tutorials very clear and idiot-proof and brings his own inimitably witty style to them too.
    Shalom !

I've been trying to incorporate the dust particles in my work for a bit. I am pretty familiar with particular, however, I cannot for the life of me figure it all out. Aharon, I see you explain it a little bit here....But don't you need less particles since they seem to be spread out more?

I really, really, liked this tutorial! I have several Red Giant Products and I have a difficult time figuring them out. I am so happy the Red Giant is going to start having more tutorials like this. I'm not the greatest "design" person so these tutorials really help advance my skills! I'm a big fan of Aaron's too. It seems like I am watching his videos quite often.

that effect can defiantly be done with particular. Mostly it requires a lot of particles, with Depth of field, with very little motion and and a bit of motion randomness. It's not something I can explain in 2 lines, but I will try to get to it as a tutorial. or perhaps share a project file in the near future.

  9. Kyle Says:

The dust particle effect seems to be a well kept trade secret. I've been searching for hours on several websites and can not find a tutorial that clearly demonstrates what a person needs to do in order to achieve a great, realistic, dust / dirt particle effect. If I need to go out and buy Maya or some other 3D application, that's fine, I just want to know so I can stop banging my head against the wall.
